These Identical Twins Gave Birth Two Hours Apart Despite Not Being Due On The Same Day

Jeremy and Josh Salyers are also identical twins who had the same idea to marry a set of identical twin sisters.

Identical twins Briana and Brittany as children

Identical twins Briana and Brittany, 35, married identical twins Josh and Jeremy Salyers, 37, and now they’re introducing the world to their babies, who are so genetically similar that the cousins are more like brothers.

“You’ve heard the term Irish twins and you’ve heard identical twins and fraternal twins,”   Briana Salyers told TODAY Parents. “But we have quaternary twins.”

On a recent summer evening, identical twin sisters Brittany and Briana Deane Salyers had a realization as they drove up the road leading to the Virginia manor they share with their identical twin husbands and two young sons: “We did it!

“ They were born to identical twin parents less than nine months apart,” Brittany Salyers explained. “Twins married to twins who both have babies at the same time.”

But amazingly, the sisters went into labour at the same time – giving birth to William “Trip” Saunders Soule on July 8 at 11.27pm and Crew Philip Crawford on July 9 at 1:28am.

But they DID plan to get pregnant at the same time, revealing: “We knew we wanted kids at the same time and ended up getting pregnant the same month!”

“It seemed like a perfect next step because it really does take a pair of twins to understand the special relationship of twins,” Brittany added.

The Salyers brothers proposed together, naturally, on Feb. 2, 2018, at Twin Lakes State Park, and Brittany and Briana recalled saying yes at the same time.

After their wedding at the twins festival, the four Salyerses eventually moved in together in a house at Smith Mountain Manor, a lakeside wedding venue they own and run as a family business, located about an hour from Roanoke.

The sisters were devastated when they each suffered miscarriages more than a year into their marriages, Brittany said.

“It was one of the most painful things I had gone through, both physically and emotionally,” she said. “Then to watch my twin go through a miscarriage was painful as well, and it was also hard for Josh and Jeremy.”

“We try to ignore sociopathic stalker comments and just focus on the positive,” Brittany said. “Some people think we are really strange and others think it’s really amazing. We’ve gotten a lot of support and interest and we’ve been grateful for that.”

As for future babies, the couples are undecided.
As for future babies, the couples are undecided.

“We are debating if we should go for one more pregnancy each or not,” Briana said. “We will make a decision pretty soon. The babies are still pretty young (and) we are trying to wait a little longer to see what to do.”
