We believe that for a healthy plant-based diet to be effective long-term it has to be enjoyable. With this in mind, we don’t normally go out of our way to throw in a ton of extra ingredients into recipes like smoothies just because they may be “healthy”.
For us, if we are going to enjoy a smoothie it is because we want something cold, creamy, and refreshing. That is it. Luckily for us we are able to enjoy this very easily in simple vegan smoothies like this recipe.
During the summer months nothing can quench your thirst quite like a homemade Vegan Chocolate Smoothie can.
- 3 ripe bananas (frozen)
- 1½ cups plant-based milk (oat, soy, almond, etc)
- 2 tbs cacao or cocoa powder
- Add all of the ingredients into your blender.
- Blend for 1 to 2 minutes or until all of the bananas have been blended into a creamy smoothie consistency.
